When contouring is so trendy, we can see that a lot of brands are coming out with their products that are meant for contouring – whether in stick form, pencil form, powder or cream version. Including L’Oreal 🙂 I don’t own any highlight and contour product, so I won’t be able to compare with something, but I will tell you how I work with it etc.etc.
About this product: this is a cream-to-powder highlight and contour palette that comes in two shades – light and medium/dark. The one that I have is the light one, of course 🙂 The difference between these shades are that the light palette is more with cool undertones, and medium/dark – warm undertones.
Highlight should be placed in the high points of your face or in other words – in the areas that you want to bring forward and pay attention to. Contour – in the areas where you want your face to have more structure and create a shadow. For example, if you have small forehead, you will be interested in using the highlight on whole forehead or at least the middle and skip contouring. If you have big forehead and you want it to look smaller you have to contour the sides of forehead or in the hair line (depends on your face shape. Internet is full of contouring pictures for each and every face shape) 🙂
My opinion: As far as I have tried this product, I like it 🙂 It is super creamy (thought, you feel the powdery feeling, which is actually really nice), so you don’t have to worry about not blended look. You can easily blend it out and even build it up. Also, this is pretty good for beginners, who are new to contouring, cause it’s not too pigmented, so you have a room to control the outcome. After application, it turns as a powder, but it takes a little bit of time.
As I previously said, this is the light version and colors are with pink undertone. Even thought I am pale, but with neutral/warm undertone, I can easily work with it 🙂 I would suggest to use synthetic brush to apply it, and the most easiest way would be – angled contour or kabuki brush. L’Oreal has a sculpting double-ended brush too, but we don’t have it in Latvia. That brush is a good one for this product (at least it looks nice) 😀
I think that’s all I wanted to say about it! I think that price is a little bit over 10 EUR, which is ok, especially if you want to take such product with you, it’s the most compact version.
If you have any questions, please leave them down below and I will get back to you 🙂
Have a nice week ahead 😉
