Silicone Beauty Sponge?

Hey! This is going to be totally different post then any of my previous ones. I simply wanted to give my thoughts on that kinda new trend – SILICONE BEAUTY SPONGE. You are more than welcome to comment down below and say what you think of it, cause I would love to know that.

At first when I saw someone making a video about this sponge it looked funny, but when it came viral and beauty companies started to produce them in a HUGE amounts I started to freak out. The reason behind producing these sponges was that it doesn’t soak up any product + it’s more hygienic cause no bacteria’s can go inside and it’s easier to wash it than beauty blender (sponge).

My question is – WHY? Why we have gone so far? It’s not like I am so happy of product soaking in sponge etc., but why would we need SUPER FULL coverage on our face without any blend-ability? In general some makeup trends have gone a bit too far and a lot of people think that Instagram makeup is the perfect makeup. It’s not!

Makeup in general is meant only for us to look more fresh, more awake and a bit better than we already are + to cover some spots or pimples that can make some people fell uncomfortable. It’s not meant for covering EVERYTHING that we have naturally. It looks nice when your skin peaks through a bit 🙂 Of course, it doesn’t mean that I haven’t wore full face of makeup with full coverage. I had! But the thing I want to point out – don’t over do it.

Such sponge will simply cover your whole face. I haven’t tried this sponge, but it’s enough for me with seeing so many videos where everything happens just the same. Foundation should be blended! You have to blend it in your skin and start with small amount, checking how it looks and maybe add only 2nd coat in few specific areas. That’s how you can get the most perfect result and that’s how any makeup artist is working on their models/clients.

The way beauty influencers do their makeup may not be the best way. There is no need for adding so much concealer under the eyes and so many shades lighter that foundation color. There is no need for IN-YOUR-FACE highlight game! It simply doesn’t look natural! Not that makeup at all is a natural thing, but there is no need for making it even MORE unnatural.

There was a reason why makeup brushes were made for application! 🙂 Trends are trends, but real deal is real deal 🙂

Let me know if you own such sponge or not and what are your thoughts. Maybe you love it and that’s fine 🙂 These are just my personal thoughts 🙂

With love ❤

  2. I completely agree with you. They attribute it all to Kim K but few know that Kim K’s makeup artist took inspiration from drag queen makeup. So basically, influencers these days wear and preach wearing drag queen makeup!!!!
